Eighth Annual Digital Packaging Summit To Focus On Supply Chain

2022-09-03 06:33:17 By : Mr. Jacky Wang

The eighth annual Digital Packaging Summit will take place November 7-9, 2022 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Summit is a hosted, invitation-only conference designed for senior managers and executives in label and package printing and converting who want to understand how current and future digital printing technology and software will impact their business and investment decisions.

This year’s event will focus on the opportunities enabled by the COVID-induced supply chain and business model changes. Our attendees want to understand how this next generation of digital solutions is suited to address the perfect storm of unpredictable orders and insufficient labor, while providing stellar image quality on a wide range of substrates.

Conference Co-Chair Marco Boer of IT Strategies at Digital Packaging Summit 2021

“The inherent benefits of digital printing technology’s ability to print low or high volumes with highly relevant content on short notice are being amplified as a result of the business model changes inflicted by the supply chain challenges caused by COVID. Substrates are less available and too expensive to waste, leading to smaller and more frequent print orders. The resulting changes in workflow are putting high-pressure on conventional print (offset, flexo, gravure) and legacy workflow processes, as small print runs require more labor when using conventional printing processes." - Conference Co-Chair, Marco Boer of IT Strategies

“We have all purchased things that never lived up to our expectations, but some have turned out better than expected. With digital presses, users have found they are good for the short runs they bought them for, but research shows that 6-10 months into the installation of single pass digital presses in the corrugated market (for example), users expanded their use to relieve pressures on other plant assets regardless of the number of colors or order size. Research shows that in many cases over 40% of digital orders are for a half truck load…which is not short run! Across applications, digital assets are making plants more efficient and profitable, in some cases 4-5% more profitable.” - Conference Co-Chair, Kevin Karstedt of Karstedt Partners.

“When we launched DPS eight years ago, we knew that digital printing and production technologies were poised to forever change the packaging industry landscape. Since that time, this event has grown in lockstep with digital’s ongoing expansion throughout all packaging segments. This technology provides incredible creative opportunities for brand owners and converters, while simultaneously solving pressing industry challenges including supply chain constraints, labor limitations, and the short runs and fast turnarounds that brand owners desire. Our program will help users explore the unique value digital technology can bring to their business.” - Advisory Board Member, Cory Francer, Analyst, NAPCO Research
