Deep Rock Galactic is a four-person cooperative first-person shooter game published by Coffee Stain Publishing and developed by Ghost Ship Games. You play as a team of four dwarves (each dwarf has its own profession). They sign a contract with the Deep Rock Galaxy Company to mine the dangerous planet Hoxxes IV to obtain resources and blow up those crawling in its darkest depths. Hordes of aliens. The game has a 100% destructible environment, procedurally generated caves to explore, and a large number of cool weapons and gadgets to upgrade.

Today, Deep Rock Galactic will usher in the biggest season 1 content update to date: Rival Incursions. This marks the beginning of a new mode, and Deep Rock Galaxy will receive new content in the form of seasons rather than updates. Season 1: Rival Incursions will include a brand new mission, new weapons for each class, new enemies to shoot, system changes, more DLC, and a brand new, completely free, battle pass-style game system, Performance Pass.

Performance Pass is Deep Rock Galactic's attempt to Battle Pass. Players can pass 100 levels and complete challenges to unlock new content, completely free. The working principle of the system is to assign daily challenges to players, and reward performance points after completion, which can be used to upgrade levels. Certain levels will reward players with Scrips, which can be used as a currency to purchase a series of items such as beards, weapon skins, crafting materials, pickaxes, and paint jobs. You can track your daily challenges in the season terminal.

In addition to the performance pass, there is a new mission called "Industrial Destruction". The premise is that Deep Rock Galaxy discovers that a competitor company has landed in Hoxxes IV and is encroaching on their mining business. Don't want this to lie down, the player's task is to infiltrate the base of the hostile company, steal their private information, and destroy any security drones in front of you.

In preparation for this mission, each dwarf class has acquired a brand new weapon to create chaos. The engineer got the LOK-1 smart rifle to track the enemy, the corrosive sludge pump to control the crowd by drilling, the scout got the DRAK-25 plasma carbine that melted on the face, and the gunner got the super-top hurricane missile system.

Season 1: Rival Incursions will include a cosmetic DLC pack called Rival Tech, which is the only form of paid content in this update. The River Tech package will allow players to change the appearance of their weapons with the theme of enemies in industrial destruction missions, and provide additional armor paint jobs, Bosco, and pickaxes. Finally, Season 1: Rival Incursion will also make system changes and improvements to the game, such as increasing the number of loading slots.

This is a huge update from Deep Rock Galactic, which aims to change the way the Battle Pass is implemented in video games. Will this update bring new players to Deep Rock Galactic and help it become one of the best first-person shooters on Xbox? In the long run, will this free Performance Pack succeed and encourage other game companies to follow suit?

Deep Rock Galactic is available on Xbox One, Series X, Series S and PC. It is currently also available on Xbox Game Pass.
