It’s challenging to find tempered glass screen protectors for phones with curved displays, and even more so if they use under-display fingerprint scanners. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has both. The good news, though, is that Whitestone has its signature Dome Glass screen protector available. It’s one of the best you can get, with liquid dispersion tech automatically fixing minor scratches and cracks. It’s not the easiest to install, but the included installation frame and UV curing light make it a little easier.
This AmFilm option is another tempered glass screen protector that will work with the fingerprint scanner. Still, you’ll have to re-train the scanner after installation and enable the Touch Sensitivity setting on the phone. AmFilm redesigned the installation kit to include two gel drips for a more even glue spread, and the frame and UV curing light allow for a perfect fit. Otterbox has expanded beyond rugged cases and now sells excellent screen protectors for phones like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. These TPU film protectors don’t feel flimsy and offer good scratch resistance. Otterbox has a few different options available as well. There’s the standard ultra-clear film, an ultra-clear option with an anti-microbial layer, and an option with a blue-light filter and anti-microbial coating. All three are easy to install with the included installation kit.
If you’re looking for simple scratch-resistance, the Spigen NeoFlex is a good one to consider. It doesn’t provide perfect edge-to-edge protection, but that makes it easier to use with cases. The installation kit includes a spray and frame, and I was able to align the screen guard after a few tries and get rid of any excess liquid. If you run into any issues, there’s a handy installation video available as well. The ultra-clear thin film ensures that the display experience stays the same. I’d still suggest re-training the fingerprint scanner after you install the screen protector, though.
The Tauri screen protector for the Galaxy S22 Ultra is another excellent TPU option. The film is ultra-clear, and I didn’t notice any difference with the display, touch sensitivity, and fingerprint scanner experience after installation. You should re-train the scanner and enable Touch Sensitivity in the Settings for the best results, though. The film comes with an oleophobic coating to keep smudges from oily fingerprints away and makes it easy to keep clean. Also included are two camera lens guards that fit well around the Ultra’s camera array.
