Beacon selected BarTender for the ease and speed with which it can be deployed in cloud EDI applications, via its standards-based nature, as well as its competitive price point.

Retailers like Wal-Mart, Target and JC Penney require their vendors to send industry standard barcode labels (GS1-128) on their packaging containers. For a lot of small-to-medium size suppliers this is a real challenge because the compliance requirements of these labeling products are complicated. If the vendor gets the barcode symbology wrong, they will have to pay chargebacks or expense-offsets to the retailers.
By combining solutions from third-party EDI providers like Beacon and easy-to-design labeling software like BarTender, small-to-medium size vendors can easily become compliant with their retail customers.
