The graphics systems division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation recently announced plans to showcase and preview the new FUJIFILM Digital UV Inkjet Label Press LP350 (LP350) at the 2021 Label Conference, held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, 9 From 29th to 30th, Booth No. 71.

The LP350 is scheduled to be released in early 2022 to meet the growing demand for short-version, high-quality and variable content in major label markets. By combining the newly launched UV ink with a powerful inkjet printing engine, this new printer provides digital label printers with the best combination of productivity and quality available on the market. As the North American label market experiences unprecedented digital growth, the LP350 is positioned to help enterprising converters take advantage of these market opportunities.

By using CMYK and orange and purple inks, the LP350 can achieve 94% of the Pantone color gamut, which is required for major label printing markets. In addition, dual white inkjet channels provide high levels of opacity for various label applications. The LP350 can print at a resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi), with 4-level grayscale and UV fixation between stations, so it has excellent print quality.

The LP350 also provides outstanding productivity, capable of printing at a speed of 164 feet per minute, regardless of the number of colors or the type of media required for the print job. The printing machine will provide 13" and 9" two widths to meet the needs of customers. In addition, the setting time and process of changing the media type are simple and fast, and can be completed within a few minutes, which further maximizes user efficiency.

LP350 demonstrated its versatility, using newly launched UV inks that have a variety of resistances, including surface durability, light resistance, and water and chemical resistance specific to label applications. These inks also provide excellent print reproducibility, density and vividness, and can be used on a variety of commonly used label substrates, such as transparent supported and unsupported films, foils, metalized materials, and coated/uncoated paper.

Other key features include corona media handling, built-in static elimination equipment, media cleaning, fully variable printability, cooling rollers for shrinking applications, and post-press UV curing system.

LP350 also implements FUJIFILM ColorPathTM Sync, a set of the most advanced cloud-based color management tools that can align output devices with specified color targets. ColorPath Sync combines optimized color correction and a simple step-by-step interface to achieve industry-leading results in creating and maintaining color output device alignment. From a digital front-end point of view, Fujifilm cooperates with leading digital front-end and software leaders to provide comprehensive and efficient production solutions to meet the high market demand of the label market.
