ISlamabad-Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Wednesday that the opposition was simply playing around with galleries by spending more time in the media on the issue of the audio leak scandal.

They were "playing with the media." The minister mentioned the recently leaked audio clip of Pakistan’s former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, saying that he allegedly gave someone instructions that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have to Sentenced opposition leader Imran Khan came to power-the former CJ categorically denied this accusation.

Sheikh Rashid said at a press conference held at the headquarters of NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) that the ruling PTI is fortunate to encounter such an "inefficient opposition." He said that these "video and audio leaks" are just to fill up the media space 24 hours a day.

He said that the three recent meetings of the opposition coalition Pakistan Democracy Movement have proved to be futile. He went on to say that in December last year, the PDM had warned that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government would be disbanded, but its efforts were of no avail. He said that the PDM rally in Peshawar was a failed performance and added that the opposition alliance had lost ground. The minister emphasized that the first four or five months of 2022 will be used for local elections, and then the government will have only one year left to complete its term. "Under certain circumstances, only fools can initiate an anti-government movement and cause trouble for it... The opposition missed the train," he said.

Sheikh Rashid reiterated that the PTI government will complete its five-year term and they will improve the status quo until the next election is coming.

In response to a question, he said that India had awarded its pilot Abhinandan Varthaman a bravery award in recognition of his fighter jet "beautifully" shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

He said the threat of Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's surgical operations or air strikes against Pakistan is untenable because Pakistan has an unparalleled line of defense in front of the military. "Every Pakistani is on the side of the Pakistani army to defend the country...Any enemy of Pakistan should forget that it can create turmoil on its borders."

The Minister of the Interior stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan has established an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Ministerial Committee, which will resolve the issue with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure that the next poll will be held through this technology.

He also stated that NADRA has been instructed to make preparations to ensure that 9 million overseas Pakistanis are provided with I voting facilities. "These voters will become the backbone of the PTI in the next election and will become the greatest support for the ruling party," he added, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan is very popular among overseas Pakistanis, and no one can compete in this regard. He competes. He said that they have added some new categories to the upgraded online visa system. Earlier, the Minister launched the upgrade system of the Pakistan Online Visa System (POVS) at the NADRA headquarters. According to a statement issued by NADRA, the system was launched in early March 2019, the process is cumbersome and cannot be accessed via smartphones and tablets.

The statement added that the overhaul involves upgrading the system, turning it into a user-friendly, powerful and safe interface compatible with all devices including mobile phones and tablets.

The Minister of the Interior said at the meeting that the online application not only promoted Pakistan's tourism industry, but also promoted the positive image of the country. He said that the convenience of entering Pakistan through POVS has improved foreign direct investment (FDI) and "stimulated the country's socio-economic activities." He added that so far, more than 600,000 applications from 180 countries have been received through the online visa system.

Speaking at the press conference, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik stated that the recent upgrade of Pakistan's online visa system will reduce application submission time by 50%. He said that there has been a substantial increase in international travel, and the visa approval rate has reached 94%. "My mission is to examine our services from a citizen's point of view and provide public services to everyone."

According to NADRA, the new categories of the system include medical tourism, CPEC visa, pilgrim visa and hiking visa. The statement also said that the business visa policy has also been revised, and visas can now be obtained within 24 hours.
